Customary Land Registration
Most of the land in the Solomon Islands is unregistered and owned by the traditional customary landowners. Often these landowners are family tribes sharing joint ownership over the area. In order to sell the land, they must come to a joint agreement.
SIIS implements a process that strictly follows Customary Law and Lands Act legislation, ensuring a hassle free acquisition for our clients. This includes an initial genealogy study to identify the landowners under Customary Law, surveying of the area, registration of land owners into a trust, negotiate the sale of the land and transfer of proper legal title.
